NERD WIRE was a YouTube channel rooted in nerd culture—covering everything from anime and superhero deep-dives to adult animation and fan theories. When the brand transitioned from its previous identity under ObsevMedia, I led the full visual redesign to help reposition it for a new generation of fans.
My work included intro animations, YouTube background graphics, thumbnails, and content wrappers—all tailored for a platform where first impressions matter. The look had to be flexible enough to support everything from lighthearted cartoon reviews to full-blown anime theory breakdowns.
The creative direction leaned into lo-fi vaporwave aesthetics, with a touch of Netflix-inspired polish. I created a new logo, brand color palette, custom illustrations, and motion graphics that gave the channel a unique visual identity. The goal was to make it feel nostalgic and current at the same time—something that spoke directly to internet-native viewers without feeling overproduced.
It was a fun challenge to mix niche fandom energy with cohesive branding. The new direction helped give NERD WIRE a clearer voice, a stronger visual identity, and a solid foundation for growing its community of viewers.
